Thursday News

There has been imperialist Democrats and imperialist Republicans. That is a fact of history. One example is the imperialist efforts among members of both parties during the Spanish American war (when after Cuba gained its independence, the U.S. corporations exploited Cuban resources. The imperialist forces promoted a Jim Crow racist culture in Cuba back in the early 20th century as proven by Professor Henry Louis Gates) and the Philippine American War. The Marines invaded Haiti too and ruled it for a while, which was about conquering territory & exploiting its resources. That is imperialism. So, imperialism is not totally monolithic in its composition. Modern day neo-imperialism allow Western states to use corporations and instruments like the IMF to extract resources from various nations (the wars in Iraq, the bombings in Libya via NATO, etc. have more to do with advancing select Western interests not protecting the security & the interests of all of the American people. How are my interests promoted when innocent black Libyan people were killed by Western backed terrorists? They aren't. Iraq, Libya, etc. were no direct threats to American soil at all). The Iraq War involved the destruction of Iraqi infrastructure, occupation, and the establishment of a pro-Western regime. Not to mention that scholars including other credible experts have exposed many of the neo-imperialist functions of the modern day war on terror too. It is so sad that she or the President's aunt passed. This has nothing to do with politics. This has everything to do with showing respect to a Sister who passed from ailments. I know that the Obama family is hurting. They certainly deserve prayers and condolences during this tough time. Zeituni wanted happiness and peace. Her memory will always be honored by real human beings who are compassionate and caring. She was a funny, smart, and caring human being. RIP Aunt Zeituni Onyango.

There has been some progress among many African Americans, but still we suffer a great deal of unemployment, poverty, police brutality, and other problems. The War on Poverty was an experiment to see how far the government can go in fighting poverty. Also, the Great Society programs included tax cuts not just public funding. Some Great Society programs worked to a certain extent and others were ended by the 1970’s The Vietnam War stripped much of the funding in the Great Society's programs. We all know that the Great Recession (which was caused heavily by Wall Street interests) greatly harmed black people in America. This problem is complex and a multifaceted solution is needed. We need an increase of the minimum wage (there is nothing wrong with an extension of unemployment benefits too), an end to the War on Drugs, and other legitimate solutions. Also, as Sister Msjames120 and Brother SPINMASTER have written, we need some more community self-determination too. If we have the power to establish huge contributions in history, then we have the power to better our situation too. More mentoring, community based programs, and independent power are needed in our community (I still reject austerity). We need more POWER to combat discrimination, racism, and unemployment. Even if someone can’t help dozens of people, a very successful person economically (or even an average Brother or Sister) can at least help one Brother or one Sister. We have to eliminate the selfish mentality that is common in some of our people. We have to care. Nothing changes unless we care. It is as simple as that. We need individual and collective solutions. Many of the super-rich in our people have got to reject that bourgeoisie mindset, because we are one people and we are in the same boat literally. We should continue to fight poverty.

Many of them or reactionaries claim to support the interests of the people, but some of them deny the right of the people to have healthcare, to have strong education, and to have the right to speak out against imperialism (when we have these torture memos confirming the brutality of the CIA torture program. We know about the evils done by the CIA and the FBI from illegal spying to unjust coups. The CIA is definitely known for its terrorist actions and the FBI has violated human civil liberties for decades via COINTEPRO, etc. The CIA's Phoenix Program blatantly was involved in terrorism outright. Both organizations follow the agenda of the ruling class not the common people). Therefore, the general welfare is a legitimate precept to accept wholeheartedly. The racist trolls are not here for now, but they might come. Some of them might even try to justify the evil done by Vance McAllister. Vance's action can never be justified at all. In the final analysis, it is about IMPERIALISM vs. HUMAN FREEDOM and it is about RACISM vs. JUSTICE. Revolutionary thinking is a key part of embracing social liberation. These folks love to lecture on their version of "Christian values" to the masses when Yeshua confronted authorities of power like the super rich and ironically the religious establishment. It is the religious establishment that exploits true spirituality to promote a materialistic, selfish, and distorted paradigm. True spirituality is respect for our ancestors too. So, we know what the deal is. The leadership of both of those major parties have been infiltrated by corporate interests. I have no issues with black liberation theology and black self determination at all. The late Malcolm X advocated independent political power for black people. Our interests are very vital to advance in a cosmopolitan society. Every time we show our legitimate grievances and express our demands publicly, we get falsely called racists (when we are not). We just want to confront the fallible power structure as a means to develop revolutionary change. We have the right to demand power and to advocate no economic exploitation of our people too. Economic justice and workers' rights are important ideals to embrace. HOTEP.

The Dunghutti Aboriginal People deserve their respect and human dignity. The struggle for justice continues. I have done a lot of researched on the Aboriginal peoples in general. Many of the bigots via the Australian government forces actually kidnapped innocent Aboriginals decades ago as a means to force them into various households. The kidnapped victims are called the Stolen Generations. Nothing is new under the sun. The Maafa and other terrible events involved massive kidnappings of innocent human beings. Even extraordinary rendition is a form of kidnapping (from the American Empire). These realities signifies the truth that oppression is a global phenomenon and that human beings have every right to defend their honor in the world. Even now, we see evils and we have to condemn any injustice. We certainly need more information in our arsenal as a means for our to understand the struggle of the Aboriginal Brothers and Sisters. Also, one of the most interesting pieces of facts about their struggle is about their civil rights movement. We can't forget the Aboriginal heroes & non-Aboriginal heroes that fought for human rights. Their names include Faith Bandler, Harriet Ellis, Lupna Giari, Gary Foley, Vincent Lingiari, Jean Jimmy, Pincer Manguari, and so many other brave souls. I will certainly recommend the Original Australian book far and wide. Obviously, racial and gender discrimination has not ceased in America. There is definitely a racial disparity in the pay gap. Also, since tons of women are black and people of color, so this gender gap between men and women is real too. His executive orders plainly state that they are enacted to either bolster the right to equal pay for women or the prevent retaliation against employees who wish to discuss their pay at the workplace (and with their supervisors). I have no issues with both executive orders. They are not controversial to me neither are they wrong. As you, Sister Erica, had written, there should be a law that explicitly gives equal pay to both genders among all employees. Also, regardless of the pay gap, no one can deny the existence of racial and gender discrimination in the workplace. We have to fight those 2 evils in a firm fashion. There is no excuse for injustice at all.

There are reactionaries like Rand Paul trying to make appeals to independents, progressives, and others. Yet, we should not take the bait for many reasons. Rand Paul’s media staffer and co-author of his 2011 book is Jack Hunter. Jack Hunter calls himself the Southern Avenger. He said that he as leving the Senator’s staff to clear his name and avoiding in his mind to dim Rand Paul’s rising star. Hunter made racist statements that black Americans should thank white people for ending slavery. Rand Paul's campaign spokesman, Chris Hightower, was forced to resign after a blogger discovered he'd kept up a post on his MySpace page from a fan of his heavy metal band, Commander – FOR TWO YEARS – wishing people "HAPPY N____ DAY" on Martin Luther King Day. Rand Paul has expressed opposition to parts of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. He demanded Congress apologize to Apple for requesting that the tax-evading corporation pay the billions of dollars it owes the U.S. government. White reactionaries always call themselves victims when they are the architects of the modern system of oppression today. Many libertarians and even some appeasing liberal/progressives believe that old school racism is gone, which is false. The truth is that the racists show so much overt racism in public that it is just wild. The ruling class after Bacon’s Rebellion used racial discrimination more so as a weapon to oppression black people in America. The SYG law and the new voter ID laws limits human freedom. So,we see that Rand Paul is a neoliberal person working for the interests of the super wealthy class of America. Rand Paul made the inaccurate statement of : “…Well, the thing is, we’re all interconnected. There are no rich. There are no middle class. There are no poor,” Paul explained. “You remember a few years ago, when they tried to tax the yachts, that didn’t work.” The truth is that there is the poor in the world. We need a social safety net, minimum wage laws, safety regulations, public education, Medicare, and Social Security. Therefore independence is what is needed.
